Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the Kothachitra (কথাচিত্র) Android app does with your information. Kothachitra is published by Ms IT Xpress (“we”, “us”, “our”). “You” means anyone who installs or uses the app.

It covers the app only — the quote library, the image designer, the calligraphy and template editors, the card maker, the daily quote notification and the home screen widget.

1. What we do not collect

• No name, e-mail address, phone number or any other contact detail — the app never asks you to register or log in.
• No contacts, no call logs, no SMS, no location, no microphone.
• No text you write. Quotes you type, names, calligraphy lines and card details are never sent to us.
• No photos. Pictures you add to a design are read on the device and stay there.
• No images you create. Saved and shared designs go to your gallery or to the app you chose — never to a server of ours. We have no server that stores user content.

2. What is stored on your device

The app keeps a small amount of data in its own private storage on the phone. This never leaves the device unless you back your phone up yourself:

• Your favourite quotes.
• Settings: app language, light / dark theme, and whether the daily quote notification is on and at what time.
• The quote currently shown on the home screen widget.
• Temporary files: when you share a design, the image is written to the app’s cache folder first so the other app can pick it up. Android clears this cache, and so does “Clear cache” in Android Settings.

Uninstalling the app removes all of it.

3. Photos, gallery and sharing

• Choosing a photo. When you add a photo to a canvas, Android’s own picker opens and hands the app only the picture you selected. The app does not browse your gallery and does not upload the photo anywhere.
• Saving. Saving a design writes a PNG — or, for cards, a print-ready PDF — to your device gallery or files. On Android 10 and older this needs storage permission, which is requested at the moment you tap Save, not at startup. On Android 11 and newer no permission is needed.
• Sharing. Sharing hands the image to the Android share sheet. What happens after that is governed by the app you pick (WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger and so on) and by their privacy policies, not by ours.

4. Google services used by the app

Kothachitra uses a few Google services. They are the only third parties that receive anything, and none of them receive your quotes, your text, your photos or your designs.

These services are provided by Google LLC and are subject to the Google Privacy Policy and, for the Firebase parts, the Firebase Privacy and Security notes. Data processed by them may be stored on Google servers outside Bangladesh.

5. Advertising

The app does not show ads and does not use the Android advertising ID. If we add advertising in a future version, we will update this policy and the Play Store Data safety declaration before that version is published, and any consent required in your region will be asked for inside the app.

6. Permissions and why the app asks

• Internet — to download fonts, send crash and usage reports, and fetch Remote Config. Everything else, including the entire quote collection, works offline.
• Notifications — only if you turn the daily quote on. The notification is built and scheduled on your phone by the app; nothing is sent from a server, so it works with no connection.
• Run at startup (boot completed) — to re-schedule that daily notification after you restart the phone or update the app. Without it the notifications would quietly stop.
• Photos and media — to open a picture you chose, and to save a finished design. Requested when you use the feature, never at launch.

7. Children

Kothachitra is a general audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, write to us and we will delete it.

8. How long data is kept

• Data on your phone stays until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app.
• Crash reports are retained by Firebase Crashlytics for up to 90 days.
• Analytics data is retained for the period set in our Firebase project, up to a maximum of 14 months for event-level data. Aggregated reports that cannot identify a device may be kept longer.

9. Sharing and selling

We do not sell, rent or trade any data. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. The only recipients are the Google services listed in section 4, which process the data on our behalf. We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect our rights and the safety of users.

10. Security

Everything you create is held in the app’s private storage, which Android keeps isolated from other apps. Traffic to the Google services above is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). We hold no accounts and no user content on any server of ours, so there is no user database to breach. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data.

• Delete everything on the device: uninstall the app, or use Android Settings → Apps → Kothachitra → Storage → Clear data.
• Stop analytics and crash reporting: uninstalling the app stops it entirely. You can also ask us to delete the analytics and crash data associated with your installation by e-mailing us — include your device model and roughly when you used the app so we can locate the records.
• Ask a question or make a complaint: e-mail us at the address below. We answer requests within 30 days.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top. If the change is significant, it will be announced in the Play Store release notes for the version that introduces it. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.

গোপনীয়তা নীতি (বাংলা)

কথাচিত্র অ্যাপটি আপনার তথ্য নিয়ে কী করে, এই পাতায় সেটাই লেখা আছে। অ্যাপটি প্রকাশ করেছে Ms IT Xpress। নিচে “আমরা” বলতে Ms IT Xpress, আর “আপনি” বলতে অ্যাপ ব্যবহারকারী বোঝানো হয়েছে। ইংরেজি ও বাংলা লেখার মধ্যে কোনো অমিল দেখা দিলে উপরের ইংরেজি অংশটিই চূড়ান্ত ধরা হবে।

১. যা আমরা নিই না

• নাম, ই-মেইল, ফোন নম্বর বা অন্য কোনো যোগাযোগের তথ্য নয় — অ্যাপ কখনো লগইন করতে বলে না।
• কন্টাক্ট, কল লিস্ট, এসএমএস, লোকেশন বা মাইক্রোফোন — কিছুই নয়।
• আপনার লেখা কোনো টেক্সট নয়। নিজের উক্তি, নাম, ক্যালিগ্রাফির লাইন, কার্ডের তথ্য — কিছুই আমাদের কাছে আসে না।
• ছবি নয়। ডিজাইনে যোগ করা ছবি ফোনেই পড়া হয়, ফোনেই থাকে।
• আপনার বানানো ডিজাইন নয়। সেভ করলে গ্যালারিতে যায়, শেয়ার করলে আপনার বাছাই করা অ্যাপে যায় — আমাদের কোনো সার্ভারে নয়। ইউজারের কনটেন্ট রাখার মতো কোনো সার্ভারই আমাদের নেই।

২. ফোনে যা জমা থাকে

অ্যাপ নিজের ভেতরে অল্প কিছু তথ্য রাখে। আপনি নিজে ফোনের ব্যাকআপ না নিলে এগুলো ফোন ছেড়ে কোথাও যায় না:

• প্রিয় উক্তির তালিকা।
• সেটিংস: ভাষা, লাইট/ডার্ক থিম, দৈনিক উক্তির নোটিফিকেশন চালু আছে কি না এবং কখন আসবে।
• হোম স্ক্রিন উইজেটে এখন যে উক্তিটি দেখাচ্ছে।
• অস্থায়ী ফাইল: শেয়ার করার সময় ছবিটা আগে অ্যাপের ক্যাশ ফোল্ডারে লেখা হয়, যাতে অন্য অ্যাপ সেটা নিতে পারে। অ্যান্ড্রয়েড নিজেই এই ক্যাশ পরিষ্কার করে, সেটিংস থেকেও করা যায়।

অ্যাপ আনইনস্টল করলে এর সবটুকু মুছে যায়।

৩. ছবি, গ্যালারি আর শেয়ার

• ছবি বাছাই। ক্যানভাসে ছবি যোগ করতে গেলে অ্যান্ড্রয়েডের নিজের পিকার খোলে এবং আপনি যেটা বাছাই করেন কেবল সেটাই অ্যাপকে দেয়। অ্যাপ আপনার গ্যালারি ঘেঁটে দেখে না, ছবি আপলোডও করে না।
• সেভ। ডিজাইন সেভ করলে PNG — কার্ডের ক্ষেত্রে ছাপার উপযোগী PDF — ফোনের গ্যালারি বা ফাইলে যায়। অ্যান্ড্রয়েড ১০ ও তার আগের ভার্সনে এর জন্য স্টোরেজ অনুমতি লাগে, যেটা সেভ চাপার সময়ই চাওয়া হয়, অ্যাপ খোলার সময় নয়। অ্যান্ড্রয়েড ১১ বা তার পরে কোনো অনুমতি লাগে না।
• শেয়ার। শেয়ার করলে ছবিটা অ্যান্ড্রয়েডের শেয়ার শিটে চলে যায়। এরপর কী হবে তা আপনার বাছাই করা অ্যাপের (হোয়াটসঅ্যাপ, ফেসবুক, মেসেঞ্জার) নীতি অনুযায়ী চলে, আমাদের নয়।

৪. অ্যাপ যেসব Google সেবা ব্যবহার করে

কথাচিত্র কয়েকটি Google সেবা ব্যবহার করে। তৃতীয় পক্ষ বলতে কেবল এগুলোই কিছু পায়, আর এদের কেউই আপনার উক্তি, লেখা, ছবি বা ডিজাইন পায় না।

• Firebase Analytics — নাম-পরিচয়হীন ব্যবহারের হিসাব (যেমন কোন স্ক্রিন খোলা হলো, ছবি সেভ হলো, ছবি শেয়ার হলো, দৈনিক উক্তি চালু বা বন্ধ হলো), সঙ্গে একটি এলোমেলোভাবে তৈরি ইনস্টলেশন আইডি, ফোনের মডেল, অ্যান্ড্রয়েড ভার্সন, ভাষা আর আনুমানিক দেশ। কোন ফিচার আসলে কাজে লাগছে সেটা বোঝার জন্য।
• Firebase Crashlytics — অ্যাপ বন্ধ হয়ে গেলে ত্রুটির বিবরণ, ফোনের মডেল, অ্যান্ড্রয়েড ভার্সন আর অ্যাপ ভার্সন। সমস্যা খুঁজে ঠিক করার জন্য।
• Firebase Remote Config — অ্যাপের সেটিং আনার অনুরোধ, যার সঙ্গে ইনস্টলেশন আইডি আর অ্যাপ ভার্সন যায়। নতুন রিলিজ না দিয়েই কিছু সেটিং বদলানো বা জরুরি আপডেটের কথা জানানোর জন্য।
• Google Fonts — ফন্ট নামানোর অনুরোধ, যাতে যেকোনো ওয়েব রিকোয়েস্টের মতোই আপনার আইপি ঠিকানা থাকে। অ্যাপের অন্য কোনো তথ্য এর সঙ্গে যায় না।
• Google Play (ইন-অ্যাপ আপডেট) — অ্যাপের ভেতর থেকেই আপডেট দেওয়ার জন্য; অ্যাপ শুধু জানতে চায় নতুন ভার্সন এসেছে কি না।

এই সেবাগুলো Google LLC-র, এবং Google-এর গোপনীয়তা নীতি মেনে চলে। এসব তথ্য বাংলাদেশের বাইরের সার্ভারেও জমা থাকতে পারে।

৫. বিজ্ঞাপন

অ্যাপে কোনো বিজ্ঞাপন নেই এবং অ্যান্ড্রয়েডের অ্যাডভার্টাইজিং আইডি ব্যবহার করা হয় না। ভবিষ্যতে বিজ্ঞাপন যোগ করলে সেই ভার্সন প্রকাশের আগেই এই নীতি আর প্লে স্টোরের Data safety তথ্য হালনাগাদ করা হবে, এবং প্রয়োজন হলে অ্যাপের ভেতরেই আপনার সম্মতি চাওয়া হবে।

৬. অনুমতিগুলো কেন লাগে

• ইন্টারনেট — ফন্ট নামাতে, ক্র্যাশ ও ব্যবহারের রিপোর্ট পাঠাতে আর Remote Config আনতে। পুরো উক্তির সংগ্রহসহ বাকি সবকিছু নেট ছাড়াই চলে।
• নোটিফিকেশন — কেবল দৈনিক উক্তি চালু করলে। নোটিফিকেশনটি আপনার ফোনেই তৈরি ও নির্ধারিত হয়, সার্ভার থেকে কিছু আসে না, তাই নেট ছাড়াও কাজ করে।
• বুট হলে চালু হওয়া — ফোন রিস্টার্ট বা অ্যাপ আপডেটের পর দৈনিক নোটিফিকেশন আবার সেট করার জন্য। এটা না থাকলে নোটিফিকেশন চুপচাপ বন্ধ হয়ে যেত।
• ছবি ও মিডিয়া — আপনার বাছাই করা ছবি খুলতে আর তৈরি ডিজাইন সেভ করতে। যখন ফিচারটি ব্যবহার করবেন তখনই চাওয়া হয়, অ্যাপ খোলার সময় নয়।

৭. শিশুদের বিষয়ে

কথাচিত্র সবার জন্য বানানো অ্যাপ, ১৩ বছরের কম বয়সীদের লক্ষ্য করে নয়। শিশুদের ব্যক্তিগত তথ্য আমরা জেনেশুনে সংগ্রহ করি না। এমন কিছু ঘটেছে মনে হলে আমাদের জানান, মুছে দেওয়া হবে।

৮. তথ্য কত দিন থাকে

• ফোনের তথ্য ততক্ষণ থাকে, যতক্ষণ আপনি অ্যাপ থেকে মুছে না দেন বা অ্যাপ আনইনস্টল না করেন।
• ক্র্যাশ রিপোর্ট Firebase Crashlytics-এ সর্বোচ্চ ৯০ দিন থাকে।
• ব্যবহারের হিসাব আমাদের Firebase প্রজেক্টে নির্ধারিত সময় পর্যন্ত থাকে, ইভেন্ট-পর্যায়ের তথ্যের জন্য যা সর্বোচ্চ ১৪ মাস। যেসব সারসংক্ষেপ থেকে কোনো ডিভাইস চেনা যায় না, সেগুলো আরও বেশি সময় থাকতে পারে।

৯. তথ্য বিক্রি বা হস্তান্তর

আমরা কোনো তথ্য বিক্রি বা ভাড়া দিই না, বিজ্ঞাপনদাতা বা ডেটা ব্রোকারের সঙ্গে ভাগ করি না। ৪ নম্বর অংশে বলা Google সেবাগুলোই কেবল আমাদের হয়ে তথ্য প্রক্রিয়া করে। আইনি বাধ্যবাধকতা থাকলে বা ব্যবহারকারীর নিরাপত্তার প্রয়োজনে তথ্য প্রকাশ করা হতে পারে।

১০. নিরাপত্তা

আপনার বানানো সবকিছু অ্যাপের নিজস্ব স্টোরেজে থাকে, যা অ্যান্ড্রয়েড অন্য অ্যাপ থেকে আলাদা রাখে। উপরের Google সেবাগুলোর সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ HTTPS দিয়ে এনক্রিপ্ট করা। আমাদের সার্ভারে কোনো অ্যাকাউন্ট বা ইউজার কনটেন্ট নেই, তাই ফাঁস হওয়ার মতো কোনো ডেটাবেজও নেই। তবু কোনো ব্যবস্থাই শতভাগ নিরাপদ নয়, আর আমরা নিরঙ্কুশ নিরাপত্তার নিশ্চয়তা দিতে পারি না।

১১. আপনার অধিকার

• ফোনের সব তথ্য মুছতে: অ্যাপ আনইনস্টল করুন, অথবা Settings → Apps → Kothachitra → Storage → Clear data।
• ব্যবহারের হিসাব ও ক্র্যাশ রিপোর্ট বন্ধ করতে: অ্যাপ আনইনস্টল করলেই পুরোপুরি বন্ধ হয়ে যায়। চাইলে ই-মেইল করে আপনার ইনস্টলেশনের তথ্য মুছে দিতে বলতে পারেন — ফোনের মডেল আর মোটামুটি কোন সময়ে অ্যাপ ব্যবহার করেছেন, সেটা লিখে দিলে খুঁজে পেতে সুবিধা হয়।
• প্রশ্ন বা অভিযোগ: নিচের ঠিকানায় ই-মেইল করুন। ৩০ দিনের মধ্যে উত্তর দেওয়া হয়।

১২. নীতি বদলালে

অ্যাপের তথ্য ব্যবহারের ধরন বদলালে এই পাতা আর উপরের তারিখ হালনাগাদ করা হবে। বড় কোনো পরিবর্তন হলে সেটি যে ভার্সনে আসছে, তার প্লে স্টোর রিলিজ নোটেও জানানো হবে।
